Project Specialist


Rockville based government contractor is seeking a Project Specialist to support a large‑scale Federal project headquartered in Washington, DC. This individual will report to a senior Project Manager in the oversight of a fast paced, highly visible, and multi-faceted contract in support of a cabinet-level Federal agency. The Project Specialist will interface with project and Federal government personnel, provide administrative support to the project staff, assist with planning, coordinating, and making logistical and travel arrangements for meetings; and perform some clerical tasks such as word processing, filing, answering phones, maintaining office files, etc.

Education/Experience

Bachelor’s degree required. Must have a minimum of three years’ experience in a fast-paced corporate or Federal contracting environment.

Job Responsibilities
  • Supports and reports to senior Project Manager
  • Interfaces with project and Federal government personnel.
  • Provides administrative support to the project staff.
  • Assists with planning, coordinating, and making logistical arrangements for meetings.
  • Coordinates travel for staff.
  • Prepares meeting agendas and arranges conference calls.
  • Performs clerical tasks such as word processing, filing, photocopying, answering phones, ordering supplies, maintaining office files, faxing, mass mailings, etc.
  • Reviews documents for clarity and completeness.
  • Performs data entry.

Skills/Qualifications
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft suite and have a working knowledge of Access.
  • Must have excellent understanding of PC applications and databases.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
  • Ability to independently prioritize and accomplish assigned tasks on time.
  • Must be detail - and task-oriented.
